French Drains
We Offer A Wide Variety Of Drainage Solutions

If you’re having issues with rainwater pooling, saturating, or flooding your property, Rain Tamer can help. We offer a wide variety of residential or commercial drainage solutions to keep your property dry.
Water runoff from surface areas like roofs, driveways, and yards are just a few places that shed large volumes of rainwater. Our goal is to capture and divert this water off of your property before it creates a problem. Ideally we want to drain this water to the street or somewhere where it’s going to charge back into the ground without causing any issues.
There are two major types of drains that we install on properties in the OKC metro everyday. Surface Drains and French Drains.

French Drains

We all know that everyone refers to all underground drains as French drains, which is fine. However, a true French drain is a perforated pipe buried 16 – 36” below ground, encased with 1-1/2” crushed rock. This is generally used to capture water running off of a hill or higher elevation where water has time to permeate the surface and move laterally underground. French drains are often used at the bottom of footings and basements to prevent water intrusion. French drain pipe is usually 4”, 6”, or 8” PVC.

Surface Drains

Surface Drains primarily capture water from hard surface areas such as driveways, patios, decks, and low areas of your yard.
They come in a large variety of sizes, shapes, and profiles to fit any residential or commercial drainage need. Most often we’ll use square 9x9 or 12x12 catch basins to capture residential surface water. Other surface areas such as channel drains can be utilized to capture water from driveways that take on water from the street, or sidewalk areas that see large volumes of water.
Flower beds are another area where surface drains are utilized. Usually we place 4” atrium drains in specific locations of flower beds. This not only ensures that the flowerbed won’t become engulfed in water, but it also allows for proper aeration in the soil, resulting in healthier plants, flower, and trees.

Downspout Drains

In heavy rains downspout may pool water around your homes foundation. Downspout drains are solid pipe that is connected to the downspouts that drain the water off of your seamless gutters.
We can capture and divert all of the water shedding off your roof so that it never begins to pond or cause a problem with your foundation.

Dispersing Water

Once we have properly captured and diverted the rainwater, we then need to determine the best way to disperse the water.
For homes with paved streets and curbs, we like to disperse the water at the street via 4” cores through the curb. This allows the water to drain freely to the street unrestricted for maximum flow.
For areas that do not have a raised curb, we can use a pop up emitter to disperse the water, or if we’re coming out of a hill or creek we can leave the pipe open with a grate cover.

French Drain Repair

We offer french drain repair because drains are notorious for getting clogged simply because there’s a lot of debris that can get picked up by rainwater.
If your drain because clogged and is not working properly, don’t panic, give us a call. We have the ability to run a diagnostic camera through your entire drain system and pinpoint where clogs are.
We can also do full inspections on existing drain systems to ensure integrity and that there are no breaks in line, or holes that have developed in the walls of the pipe.

What Our Clients Say

This was my first time using Rain Tamer for drainage and I won't be using anyone else in the future. Dustin came and worked with me on the best approach to resolve my water drainage issues. His team worked efficiently and he sent me before and after pictures (I live out of state and they performed work on my rental property). I've already begun working with them on replacing my existing gutters.
